Are we still marketing in these uncertain times?

People think that because of COVID-19, no-one is buying at the moment. But if you look at companies and the adverts running on social media, you’ll see that people are spending money. The reason for this is simple. We are all in this situation together. Every company is being affected. So, the ones that are still advertising, still have the competitive advantage.

A recent article in the Harvard Business Exchange echoes the same thing “Successful companies do not abandon their marketing strategies in a recession; they adapt them”. Adapting to the change; we realized that now wasn’t the time to stop all efforts, now was the time to learn, change and adapt to the new way of doing things. With this in mind we started working on various avenues of making contact with and getting engaged prospects.

Successful companies do not abandon their marketing strategies in a recession; they adapt them

Companies can offer new ways to streamline their marketing processes while still offering exceptional customer service and saving on costs. How? By outsourcing these services you’re able to work with specialists when you need them, and not pay for the service when you don’t. At KNC Services, we offer a range of specialised services to help you do just that:

  1. Leads: Finding several different avenues in getting hold of good, quality leads to work from.
  2. Cold-Calling: We have a team of Personal Assistants who have ample training on your offering so that when they pick up the phone and speak to a prospect, they sound like they are part of your company.
  3. E-mail campaigns: We send e-mails to each one of your prospects, requesting a meeting with them.
  4. LinkedIn Services: Setting up and managing your page. Making direct contact with the prospects and companies of your choice
  5. Facebook and Instagram: We do everything from setting up, managing your pages and inviting prospects to follow your online activity.

Sure, with the current COVID-19 lockdown in place, we are seeing a slowdown in business. Based on an article written by the Harvard Business Review’s How to Market in a Recession by John Quelch. This isn’t the time to curb marketing efforts. Rather, it is the time adapt one’s message and marketing strategy.

At KNC, we have identified five steps to help you adapt your offering quickly:

  1. Understand your customer. Now, more than ever, people searching for value. Instead of cutting the marketing budget, redefine your value proposition.
  • Family comes first. Anthropologically, people consolidate and retreat to comfort zones in times of stress.
  • Keep pushing forward. This is not the time to cut advertising. It stands to reason that if everyone else is pulling back, by maintaining your marketing presence, you’ll pull ahead.
  • Rethink your pricing strategy. Customers have the time to shop around for the best deals. Now is the time to work smart with your price promotions, reduce thresholds for quantity discounts, extend credit to long-standing customers and price smaller pack sizes more aggressively.
  • Take a stand. Express your core values by giving people the chance to make a difference. People want to take charge of the situation, if you can, show them how.

At KNC Services, we get to know our customers from the ground up, knowing from where you started, what your core values are and what your goals may be. Once we’ve done our homework and training, we are able to put together the kind of message that prospects will want to hear more about! Remember, if you aren’t actively marketing, your competitor will be.
